Kawase Hasui (1883 -1957) was a master of the shin-hanga movement, which revitalised the traditional art form of woodblock prints. Hasui is best known for his picturesque landscapes and rural scenes, which were inspired by his sketches while traveling the countryside of Japan.
Since its birth in 1989, Cavallini has delighted people all over the world with its superb range of beautiful stationery. When you buy Cavallini you are buying authentic vintage imagery of the highest quality. The founder of Cavallini, Brad Parberry, has been a collector since he was a young boy. He spent a year in Italy, where he immersed himself in the wonderful art and culture of the country. He found great inspiration in it and because of this, the Cavallini stationery range was born.
The designs that you see on the Cavallini range today are inspired by his lifelong reverence for our history and past. Design elements are based on 19th century travel guides, anatomical charts, maps, botanical plates .....you can enjoy iconic images on your stationery. Now the collection has a span of hundreds of years, and as the company has grown, so has the range. These days Brad still tends to the archives and range, and he and his team at Cavallini are proud that it is sought out by admirers worldwide, high-end design shops, museums, bookstores ..and of course that list includes us here at MadMolly.
Did you know that the name Cavallini comes from the married name of the founder's grandmother?
