Pink Tips-How To Use The Colour Pink To Improve Your Life
In many parts of the world pink is associated with femininity, softness and happiness. However in Japan it has a masculine association, as it represents the Samurai (young warriors) who lost their lives in battle in the prime of their lives. Each spring in Japan these young men are represented when the beautiful cherry trees produce their amazing pink blossoms.
Pink is of course a mixture of red and white, and as white stands for purity, whereas red can be either passion or aggression, the shade of pink will affect differently depending on the percentages of each contributing colour.
If it is a bright pink it may be more stimulating, fun and vibrant. More peaceful shades of pink have actually been used in prison environments to reduce behavioural problems.
Symbolically pink is about romance, love, tenderness, calm and caring.
The Colour Pink – In Your Environment
In Feng-Shui pink is a fire element colour, and is recognised as the universal colour of love. It is known to have a soothing effect on the energy as well as one’s behaviour.
Using a gentle of pink in the southwest of your space will have a positive effect on the love and marriage aspect of your life. Hotter versions of pink used in the same area will have a more fiery effect, which may be more desirable, depending on your circumstances.
Injecting it into other areas can bring calming benefits. For example in a work area you don’t have to paint it pink if you either can’t or would prefer not to, but instead you could use a rose quartz crystal on your desk, or as a feature elsewhere. A good size crystal would be better if the environment needs to be calmer.
In fact you could always add a bowl of rose quartz crystals as a stunning feature, perhaps with a small injection of amethysts also.
Now too much of pink may have an over calming effect, so be aware of this. Did you know that some football teams paint the changing room of the opposition team pink to have a tranquilising effect? Not only this but too much pink may make you crave sugar!
The Colour Pink – In The Chakra System
The word chakra is a Sanskrit word which means wheel. According to some traditions, we have a number of chakras in our bodies. These chakras move in a spiral distributing energy and consciousness. If our chakras are balanced your health should be very good, physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually.
The heart chakra is associated with both the colour pink and the colour green. The heart chakra is the fourth chakra and is the seat of love and healing. If this chakra is balanced a person feel loved and can love, has compassion for themselves and others. They are able to forgive, let go and trust.
Emotional Heart Chakra Issues
If however it is not in balance a person can have big issues, such as they may not be able to love themselves and may not be able to let go of the past. Self love is a central part of our foundation, and as the saying goes “if you can’t love yourself, how the hell do you expect anyone else to?”
So having balance in the heart chakra is central to having real love in your life, both of self and of others. Not to mention forgiveness. Not being able to forgive and let go can be quite tiring.
A heart chakra can go out of balance easily after a break up, a death of a loved one, and other really sad emotional events. It is simply that the energy is not running as it should be and that can be down to the shock and stress that you are dealing with.
Physical Heart Chakra Issues
There are also physical issues that can be associated with an out of balance heart chakra.
- Asthma
- Breast cancer
- Heart conditions
- Lung cancer
- Pneumonia
- Thoracic Spine
What Can Be Done To Balance The Heart Chakra
The biggest step in balancing the heart chakra is learning to love yourself. If you are struggling with this, then start off by forgiving yourself whatever mistakes you feel you have made. Forgive yourself your personality traits that are not quite as perfect as you would like. Remember we are all works in progress and if you start to take responsibility for loving yourself, warts and all, you will feel better and you will start to notice more people feeling better in your presence.
Some people like to use affirmations and they can work well. Affirmations are simple sayings that must be in the present tense to have an effect on the subconscious. So for example:
“I accept and love myself, and feel more joyful each day.”
Now when you start to use an affirmation you may feel a bit silly at the beginning, that’s because you’re not used to it and it take a while for the subconscious to believe it. However once it kicks in it can have a great effect.
Use Small Pink Triggers In Your Environment
You don’t have to go mad and paint lots of pink in your space to feel better, but do consider using pink here and there in small doses. If you are trying to balance your heart chakra, it can work well as a trigger to remind you to forgive and love yourself and others.
