Blue Tips-How To Use The Colour Blue To Improve Your Life
The Colour Blue – An Overview
Lots of people love the colour blue, they associate it with a beautiful blue sky, which normally means it is a nice day and with the sea, which brings pleasant memories of being by the seaside.
It is linked with the mind, with the intellect and consciousness. It is said to be a masculine colour, but in reality it has a good appeal to both men and women. A darker shade of blue is often linked with corporate expertise and it also gives the feeling of stability.
Symbolically it is all about trust, truth, confidence, loyalty, wisdom and intelligence. It calms people and can be an aid in intuition.
Yet there can be a thin line between the calming effect and the coolness of blue, crossing over to a feeling of coldness. This depends on many factors such as the shade, the state of mind of the person, the location and amount of the colour.
The Colour Blue – In Your Environment
If you want to use blue in your environment then consider the effects of the various shades. For example an electric blue can give a feeling of exhilaration, as can a brilliant blue give a feeling of dynamism and drama.
The colour blue suppresses appetite, so it is not the ideal colour to use in food promotion, or even overuse in a restaurant environment. You’ll reduce your chance of selling more food!
In Feng-Shui blue belongs to the element of water. It is best used in bagua areas of east and south east, which are respectively the areas of health and family (East) and wealth and abundance (south east).
So for example a gentle shade of blue will work very well in a home office. Or if you want your child or children to study better then paint the ceiling of their study area in a gentle blue.
Combine blue and white for a feeling of happiness in the home.
The Colour Blue – In The Chakra System
The word chakra is a Sanskrit word which means wheel. According to some traditions, we have a number of chakras in our bodies. These chakras move in a spiral distributing energy and consciousness. If our chakras are balanced your health should be very good, physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually.
The fifth chakra, which is the throat chakra, is governed by blue, seen by some as a kind of turquoise shade of blue. This chakra is all about communication and creativity. If this is functioning in a balanced way, then you’ll be at your best in these departments. If not, you may not be able to communicate important issues and emotions properly.
