The Sense Behind Angel Charms

Angel Charms-Tales From The Earth

silver angel charm tales from the earth

Recently we bought some lovely new stock of lots of charms from Tales From The Earth, which got us to thinking about charms, how they can affect people and we were discussing angel charms in particular.  Maybe you think that even this title is a little crazy – is there a sense to angel charms?

Yes there certainly is! No, I’m not going to claim that an angel charm will bring down your very own winged celestial being. That kind of discussion is best left to religious scholars.

I want to tell you about the effect that an angel charm can have and which is very real.

Angel Charms-Can an Object Bring You Luck?

Yes and no. In itself, the object doesn’t hold any special power, no matter what it is. But we can use objects to work with our mind, and that is where it gets interesting.

You, like everybody, must have had a moment where you had forgotten something and no matter how hard you try to remember, you just can’t. Frustrating. “Oh well”, you say, “I’ll think about it later. First, I could do with a cup of coffee”. And just as you walk into the kitchen – You remember!

Now why is this? Because the brain has a way of blocking something out if you try too hard to look for it. But as soon as you take your mind off it, when you stop searching, the information is there, because you weren’t looking for it anymore. In this case, the coffee was your charm. Sound familiar?

Another example: Somebody could be looking all over the house for her keys and not find them. But they must be in the house! Then she asks St. Anthony, the patron saint of lost objects, and suddenly she finds her keys. Here St. Anthony was the charm. By shifting your attention to something else, suddenly your perception is widened and there are your keys, right there for you to see while before, you were glancing past them.

Angel Charms-What About Luck?

Luck is something that you make. It doesn’t exist outside of ourselves. It can’t be conjured together or summoned.

Luck is our ability to perceive valuable and good opportunities. If you consider yourself a lucky person, or if you believe that an angel charm or some other amulet brings you luck, you are subconsciously priming your mind to be more open to recognize something good when it comes along.

And it’s no magic either. Recent scientific studies have proven that it actually works this way, and from personal experience I can confirm that it’s true.

So even if to you an angel charm may seem like a something that helps superstition, bear in mind that for your loved one, daughter, friend or niece it could be a wonderfully precious gift.

Who knows what favor you could be doing by giving an angel charm as a gift. Maybe the receiver will suddenly notice that special someone; maybe they’ll open the paper at the classifieds page just to see if there’s a new job out there just on the day that excellent job opportunity is published; or maybe they’ll simply feel stronger in the face of whatever adversity they might have to face.

We can’t know what the effect will be, but for someone to whom angel charms are important the effect will always be positive. Very often, people will even end up dreaming of angels. And again, I’m not implying anything esoteric with that: a character in a dream is simply a personification of a part of the subconscious.

Whatever meaning and importance that has to each person is up to her, but I’m pretty sure that for everyone it’s more pleasant to dream of angels instead of having nightmares!
